Meat Cheese Bread is nestled between some edgy shop and the Thai Thai branch that hasn’t had a customer since 1989, just east of the Vegan Mall. I recall seeing the paper on the windows and some vague rumor about the spot months ago, but they opened quietly about two weeks ago. They have Stumpy’s coffee, Wifi, and one of those menus that is not unlike the Little Red Bike Cafe: you want to order everything at once, right now.

I had the breakfast burrito. It’s not gargantuan, it’s more suitable for functional eating, like something I might make myself if I weren’t a lazy ass, not the size of a small child burritos you get at breakfast places or taco trucks. The Green Chile Salsa was acidic and a little spicy, the eggs were soft and the hashbrowns crunchy. As a bonus, the tortilla resembled a real tortilla, not a sun-dried tomato and pest-oh my god the tortilla gods will strike me down tortilla. I could (and might) eat one of these several times a week. Totally fair portion and price.

I will type up the menu for the internets, because this place would dearly appreciate your hug business.

  • Turkey: Roasted Turkey, Havarti, Sweet Onion, Mayo, Lettuce on rustic sourdough - 6.95
  • Park Kitchen: Flank Steak, Pickled Onions, Blue Cheese Mayo, Lettuce and Vinaigrette - 7.95
  • Veggie: Chopped Chickpeas, Black Olives, Lemon, Roasted Tomatoes, and Lettuce on como - 6.95
  • Ham Sandwich: Smoked Ham, Honey Mustard, Sweet Onions, Avocado on house roll - 5.50

    • Hot Sandwiches:

  • Turkey Melt: Turkey, Roasted Green Chile Salsa, Sweet Onion and Cheddar on sourdough - 6.50
  • Smoked Ham: House made Roll with Smoked Ham, Gruyere and aioli - 4.95
  • BLT: Nueskies Smoked Bacon, Flamingo Ridge Tomatoes, Lettuce and aioli on sourdough - 8.95
  • Roasted Mushroom: Roasted Mushrooms, Goat Cheese, Roasted Tomatoes, Frisee on a roll - 6.95

    • Salad:

  • Mixed Greens: Mixed Farm Greens, Spiced Nuts and fresh Herbs with sherry vinaigrette - 5.50
  • Blue Green: Green Leaf, Blue Cheese Dressing, Bacon and Apples - 6.55
  • Flank Steak: Tomatoes, Greens Flank Steak and Buttermilk Chive Dressing - 7.50
  • Sandwich Salad: most sandwiches available as a salad - DOS

    they also have Izze, Cricket, Kemper and Crush in bottles, and that love of all children, YooHoo.

    so go visit, ya bastids, and stay tuned. I’m sure to eat the whole damn menu within a week or two, and the owner has some schemes for Sundays that sound quite interesting.
